Update

So I've been working on some stuff. Some just personal work, and some upcoming projects. I've been slowed down these past weeks though. First my Macbook crashed and needed repair. Then I had my wisdom teeth removed, and I've been recovering very slowly. I'm able to chew foods again, so I'm back to normal. Being bed-ridden was bogus, and I'm glad to be drawing again.

I'm proud to announce that I've been chosen to be the weekly artist at Professor Blastoff, an amazing podcast on Earwolf Media. I really love the podcast, and I'm excited to be painting these weekly themes. So keep an eye out for it, and listen to the show, if you haven't already.

FREE CANVAS

I'm going through my old oil paintings and throwing most of them away. Mostly panels, but a lot of nice framed canvases too. So if anyone wants some to gesso over and reuse, email me at JacobSandersIllustration@gmail.com

I'll be throwing them away in a few days if no one wants them.

So I was testing out this Rives BFK paper with graphite, gouache, and ink.  It's just a sketch, but I like the outcome. Maybe I'll do something with this discovery.

Natural Home & Garden Illustration

Here is a recent illustration that I did for Natural Home & Garden Magazine. I was asked to do a watercolor painting, which was fun because I usually work digitally.

I feel very fortunate because I really agree with all the content in the article. It is about natural hygienic products, and how to avoid unnatural and harmful products. It's nice to illustrate something that is in line with your beliefs. So I recommend that everyone read this informative article. Also I would add that you should avoid products that were tested on animals too.

And special thanks to the editor, Jessica Kellner, for her direction.

Careless Attacks

This is a piece about careless drone attacks. It was a really fun piece to work on. Instead of traditionally pencils, I started digitally and went from there.

Society of Illustrators Student Show

I just got back from New York, and I had a great time. Last night was the reception for the Society of Illustrators Student Competition. All of the artwork there was amazing, and it was such an honor to have my artwork alongside all the other great illustrators.

Afterward, Kim and I went to have ice cream at Lula's and pizza at Vinnie's... and we need to go back soon.
