Together. Like Red Beans and Rice

This was a very quick sketch in red pen. I added colors later from memory. We were having coffee at one of our favorite restaurants, near our home in Rogers Park. Kim and I were talking about one of her upcoming pieces that morning, and this is the face she makes when she is really thinking. I can't imagine what face I was making.
Note: This was an authentic and accidental coffee drop. There were a lot more drops, but I kept this one in.

It's a Bit Nightmarish

It's odd remembering how my average day has gone through so many transformations throughout time. I feel like I've lived another person's life in the past.
But here is a preview of something I'm working on. I've been bouncing around with different projects, and I don't get to devote all my time to one. I guess it's a good thing. I get a fresh look at what I'm doing. I'm being influenced heavily by late 1800 and early 1900 illustrators at this point.
